The Cape Film Guide website is a companion to the printed publication. I coded the HTML in the old-school way (entirely by hand in a text editor) with zero budget and a 24-hour deadline. What I enjoy about this site is its simplicity. It has only the basics and yet still ranks in the top ten (often in the top three) search results for the search phrase “film guide”. This despite the fact that the site hasn’t been updated with new content in several years. I credit this to the basic SEO checklist being fulfilled and the lack of any fancy-fair.
